Founded in 1988 and celebrating our 20th year in business, Blue Heron Catering has won many awards and accolades over the years. Our recipes have appeared in many magazines, including Bon Appetit, Sunset, Gourmet, Diablo, the Oakland Magazine and The Berkeley Monthly, as well as in most of the Bay Area's newspapers.
Blue Heron Catering is one of a select group of businesses included in the party and wedding resource guide book, By Recommendation Only, which recently featured Blue Heron Catering as a preferred organic, sustainable caterer in the Bay Area.
Blue Heron Catering is on the preferred caterers list or frequently works at such sites as the Brazil Room, Dunsmuir Pavilion and Gardens, Piedmont Community Center, Chabot Space and Science Center, the Montclair Women's Cultural Arts Center, Preservation Park, Highlands Community Center, Hacienda de las Flores, the Gardens at Heather Farm, the Green Room, the Regency Building, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, The Presidio Golden Gate Club and Log Cabin, Marin Civic Center and other popular local event venues.
We are proud to be a part of the community, and to contribute to it. On behalf of our clients, Blue Heron Catering donates excess food from our events to Local Food Banks. We are a certified green business, composting any kitchen waste and recycling all other trash. Our managers are trained sustainable business managers and our staff is proud to follow our sustainable business practices. Blue Heron Catering is also a certified women owned business and a California State certified business.
Blue Heron Catering takes an active part in the events and catering business community. We contribute articles to the trade press, and regularly attend meetings of the International Special Events Society, National Association of Catering Executives and the Bay Area Wedding Network, organizations dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism in the event and catering industry.
